Steam Shower Waterproofing Membrane & Accessories
Steam showers require a higher level of vapor protection than standard tiled showers. Trugard Direct carries steam-rated waterproofing membrane specifically engineered to block moisture vapor transmission in continuous-steam environments—protecting the wall assembly, framing, and surrounding rooms from moisture damage.
Our steam shower membrane has a significantly lower vapor permeance rating than standard shower membrane, making it suitable for residential and commercial steam enclosures. It installs the same way as our regular shower waterproofing membrane—bonded to the substrate with unmodified thin-set mortar—but provides the additional vapor barrier performance that steam applications demand.
This membrane is a direct alternative to the Schluter Kerdi-DS (steam membrane) at over 60% savings. If you are building or upgrading a steam shower, this is the membrane you need for the ceiling, walls, and any surface exposed to steam.
